Welcome to Orinoco - The Oxfordshire Scrapstore.

Orinoco is a charity, based in Oxford, committed to banishing boredom and saving the world. We promote recycling, art and creative play through education and direct action.

From our store in Headington we supply paint, scrap materials and tools that we have sourced from businesses and rescued from the tip. The store is open from 11am to 4pm on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We can, subject to staff/volunteer availability, open during the week by appointment. [Map] [More about us]

We are open to everyone. You don’t have to be a member to shop with us but members receive benefits including: 50% discounts on most items, regular stock updates and invites to our special events / training days. [ Membership Information]

Waste Paint

Recent changes in legislation have made it more expensive for local authorities to dispose of waste paint. In order to avoid these increased costs many councils are now refusing to accept most waste paint at household waste recycling centres and tips. [So, what can you do with your waste paint?]

Fashion Sale - 26th April

Fabulous knitwear and linens from FLAX and Margaret White of Burford will be the highlight of the Orinoco Fashion Sale. Come along and bag a trendy bargain. We've still got plenty of yarn for sale and we'll be getting that out too. [download flier]

Swap Shop Update

The April Swap Shop was our busiest ever. Over 250 people turned up to grab free stuff or dump stuff they didn't want. Over a tonne of stuff was taken away by the swappers.

The next Orinoco Swap Shop will be on Saturday May 10th from 11am to 4pm. Bring along stuff you don't want and/or take away stuff you do. [more info] [download flier]

Scrapmobile

The Scrapmobile visits the Courtyard Youth Arts Centre (Launton Road, Bicester) on the first Tuesday of the Month between 2.30pm and 5.30pm. Next visit will be the 6th May. Maps and directions at www.bicestercourtyard.org.uk
