The Orinoco Scrapstore is open from 11am to 4pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Anyone can come to Orinoco, you do not have to be a member.

Welcome to Orinoco

Come to Orinoco for scrap items for art, play and creative projects, new art materials, household paint and a range of DIY materials. The store  is open from 11am to 4pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. [Map and Directions] [Contact Orinoco]

Everything in the store is incredibly cheap and the household paint is free. We are open to everyone and all are welcome. If you wish to visit the store outside these regular opening hours, we may be able to open at other times; please phone for an appointment.

Orinoco is a charity, based in Oxford, UK, committed to banishing boredom and saving the world. We promote re-use, art and creative play through education and direct action.

We are here for everyone: mums, dads, children, young people, teachers, childcare professionals, artists… We’ll help you play, create and decorate at low cost, in style and in a way that is environmentally responsible.

You don’t have to be a member to come to Orinoco, nor on a reduced budget, local, a teacher or an artist. Just come along to the store, shop and join in the fun.


The Orinoco Outreach team visit shows and events across Oxfordshire [Events Calendar]. You can book Orinoco Art workers to visit your event or play day [Events and Outreach]. Orinoco Swap Shops are held on the second Saturday of the month and run from 11am to 2pm. There’s no actual swapping involved. Just bring along stuff you don’t want and/or take away someone else’s stuff you do.
