University (Scrap) Challenge

Students from the Product Design course at Middlesex University came up to Orinoco on April 21st 2007 to tackle an unusual brief. Having heard about Orinoco's work, the students voted to give up a day of their time and came to the scrapstore to tackle some tricky scrap challenges.

• At the seaside and under the sea. [images and descriptions]
• 1000 years of Oxfordshire. [images and descriptions]
• Machines that move on land and water. [images and descriptions]
• Insects and mad flowers [images and descriptions]

The students were split into two teams and left to organise themselves in the best possible way to solve the problems they had been set. They recorded their ideas and designs on rolls of wallpaper (what else) and these, together with the items they constructed can be seen at the scrapstore.
