January 24th 2008 -New Scrap

We've just picked up a heap of new stock from Stafford Scrapstore. This is amazing stuff. We unloaded it today so it will be in store on sale from Thursday 24th of January onwards. [January 24th 2008]

December 7th 2007 - Season's Greetings

Three new Community Repaint Outlets open this month but the scheme may be threatened with closure. There's new stock in the ArtShop and special scrap (just in time for Christmas).  The store will be closed from Wednesday December 19th. We re-open on Saturday January 5th... [December 7th 2007]

October 16th - Orinoco A.G.M.

The Orinoco Annual General Meeting will be held at our HQ, the Bullingdon Community Centre, on Tuesday October 16th at 7pm. There will be: food, a scrap-art workshop, a free bag of scrap for every member, fun, frolics, finances and constitutional reform (huzzah). [more]

June 8th - Orinoco Gallery

The Orinoco Gallery is now fully up and running. You can jump straight to it from any page in the website by clicking the [Gallery] link at the top of the page. The gallery has all the new stock updates and pictures of what Orinoco members have made with their scrap. You can sign in and upload your pictures too.

June 8th - Gift Aid Reminder

Because Orinoco is a Registered charity we can claim tax relief on all donations we receive from UK tax payers. If you are currently an individual member who joined using your own money we can claim £2.80 for the £10 you have ALREADY paid us. All you have to do is download the Gift Aid Declaration form, fill it in and either bring it to the store or post it to us. [Gift Aid Declaration]

May 28th - Down on the Farm

Everyone who came to the 'Down on the Farm (Oooah)' workshop seemed to have a good time. Check out the photos in our new gallery. Can you do better? well come along the the Headington Festival on Sunday June 3rd in Burry Knowle Park (1pm-5pm) and join in the fun.

May 12th - New Look Orinoco

Grant aid of £1000 from the Doris Field Charitable Trust and £2360 from the Gannet Foundation has enabled us to completely refit the Orinoco Scrapstore in Headington [more]

May 12th - Orinoco Swap Shop

April 21st - University (Scrap) Challenge

Students from the Product Design course at Middlesex University came up to Orinoco on April 21st 2007 to tackle an unusual brief. Having heard about Orinoco's work, the students voted to give up a day of their time and came to the scrapstore to tackle some tricky scrap challenges. [more]

April 19th - Orinoco Update

April 14th - Orinoco Swap Shop

98 people came to the April Swap Shop. These are proving so popular that from now on we will be holding one every month on the second Saturday. 550kg of unwanted goods were brought along, over half was taken away. [more] [April Report - PDF]

April 5th - Orinoco Update

The store will be open as usual on Easter Saturday (07/04/07) and there will be opportunities to play with clay, plaster and scrap with Howie in the main hall. If you're around this weekend, it's a great time to visit, with lots of exciting new stock to tempt you in... [more]

NatWest CricketForce 2007

March 31st -Cricket Force

Orinoco and Community RePaint once again supported the NatWest Cricket Force 2007. Local clubs took away over 100 litres of paint to spruce up their buildings inside and out. [Cricket Force Website]

March 31st - Wesley Barrell Fabric Sale

We've got another load of this fabulous haberdashery fabric from world-famous furniture makers Wesley Barrell. These are roll ends and vary in length from one to ten metres. On sale in the Main hall on March 31st. [Wesley Barrell]

March 15th - Orinoco Awarded Computer

Our application (one of 2000 received) to BT Community Connections for a brand new NEC, Internet Ready, PC with Microsoft Office Software and a discounted Broadband connection has been successful. [more]

March 13th - Orinoco Update

March 10th 2007 - Orinoco Swap Shop

March 7th 2007 - March Scrap Update

Orinoco is now stocking a small range of new art materials: paint, glue, scissors, glitter, modelling clay, casting powder, etc. to complement our fabulous scrap. [more]

February 1st 2007 - Orinoco Van Hit By Vandalism

The Orinoco van has been hit by a vicious act of vandalism which threatens our popular service to business, groups and individuals all over the county. [more]

January 31st 2007 - Books and other goodies

We have been given a selection of beautiful books by Image Press of Thame. These are samples and surplus that include foreign language children's books, coffee-table glossy books and novelty samples. They will be available in the store from February the 3rd and are FREE to members.

January 20th 2007 - Grant from Cherwell District Council

A play development grant of £750 has been made by by Cherwell District Council. This will be used to expand the services offered to Cherwell District residents. Watch this space.
