New scrap
We've just taken possession of lots of lovely new scrap, including:
rolls of blue velcro, shuttlecocks, thin foam (about 1mm thick) in charcoal and white and about 3mm thick in flesh colour, netting in black, beige leaf green, bottle green and red of various shapes and sizes, Rupert Bear stickers, waste paper bins, OHP transparency sheets, lace, plastic corks, balloons in black, red and yellow with PC World printed on them, large (104x78cm) sheets of white crad, sheets of hologram card (100x54cm), strips of paper for making paper chains, plastic coleslaw tubs, the amazing foam-insulated plastic tubing stuff we've had before, and paper lollypop sticks.
Photos of most of these items are in our Gallery. Go to www.oxorinoco.org, click on Gallery on the top of the page and select New Scrap 9th June 2010.
We've also now got large bags of sawdust and large plastic sheets/bags.
As always, stocks are limited, so please don't be disappointed if they've all gone. If you want to be sure that something is in stock, please call us during opening hours on 01865-761113.
Swap shop
There's a swap shop at the Bullingdon Community Centre this Saturday, 12th June, from 11am to 1pm. Usual thing: bring along anything usable that you no longer want and/or see if anyone brings along anything you would like. No swapping required. Cafe open too.
Gazebos for hire
We have a couple of fabulous pop-up gazebos available to hire for just 10 quid each per rental (typically, a weekend). They're green and white, 3m by 3m (10' x 10'). Just let us know if you'd like them.
Arts and crafts workshops
Someone at the County Council who does a lot of good, supportive work for Orinoco has asked if we know anyone who can run workshops on environment-friendly arts and crafts. I think payment would be involved. Please let me know if you're interested, and I'll put you in touch with him.
I was going to try to get through this without mentioning the World Cup but couldn't quite manage. Come on, England!
Your Orinoco team
