Exeter Scrapswap
On Valentine's Day we went down to Exeter to meet up with scrapstores
from across South Wales Southern England and the West Country. We returned
with a van full of fantastic new stuff which is now on sale. |
Recyclopaedia
The Recyclopaedia has been one of the best kept secrets of the Scrapstore
world for many years. It is the ultimate scrap-art ideas book and is
produced by South Devon Play Resource Centre. We have a limited number of
copies for sale in store at the moment. £12.50 for members, £15 for
non-members. |
 |
Swap Shop
Orinoco will be hosting a Swap Shop on March 10th from 9am to 5pm. This
is an opportunity to bring along anything you no longer want and leave it to
find its way to a new home. If you see something you like, just take it. You
don't have to leave stuff to be able to take something, just turn up and
help yourself.
At the present time we aren't going to be able to accept electrical items
into the swap. If you are, or you know, an electrician who would be willing
to bring along some test equipment and check the electrical goods please get
in touch. |

Wesley Barrell Fabric
More fabric off-cuts will soon be on their way from the famous Witney
furniture manufacturer, Wesley Barrell. A special fabric sale is pencilled
in for Saturday April 7th. [more

Orinoco Van Attacked
The Scrap-mobile was attacked by a vandal who slashed all four tyres. It
cost us £250 to get back on the road. Thankfully, our AA membership came in
handy and we weren't saddled with transportation costs. [Full

More Books from Imago
Imago press are regularly donating books to the store. We now have a
selection of pop-up books in various languages and wonderful picture books.
These are all FREE to members but conditions apply... you are not
allowed to sell them or donate them to a retail outlet such as a charity
shop. These are great fun to read, to play with or to pull apart for the
pictures.
The blank books continue to arrive but are not on sale at the moment.
These have been really popular but we don't want to put the price up to kill
demand. So, we're letting stocks build up until we've got enough to ensure
only limited carnage ensues when everyone grabs for them. |

 |
Nitro-cellulose Impregnated Paper
Sounds impressive... and it is. We've got rolls of this brightly coloured
paper from the Green Street Bindery in Cowley. It's great for covering
things, for Origami and as a backing paper to brighten up notice boards and
displays. |
 |
Make the World's Biggest Pompom (or Pon-pon)
Orinoco Trustee Janie Butler was working in the store the other day when
she spied one of the huge hardboard donuts Howie had been saving for a rainy
day. She immediately seized it and started work on the world's biggest
Pompon. Next time you're in the store, why not add a little more to this
behemoth. |
 |
Frenzied Apathy
We'll be putting in the crate order soon, so if you want one get in touch
with Howie at the store (or reply to this email with CRATES in the subject
line). The crates are £12 each. External size - 600x400x310; internal size - usable
