Gift Aid

Because Orinoco is a Registered charity we can claim tax relief on all donations we receive from UK tax payers. If you are currently an individual member who joined using your own money we can claim £2.80 for the £10 you have ALREADY paid us. All you have to do is download the Gift Aid Declaration form, fill it in and either bring it to the store or post it to us. Scrappy Design

A group of students from Middlesex University came to Orinoco on April 21st to tackle some tricky design problems. Inspired by Orinoco's approach to waste reduction they gave up their own time to work for a day on some scrappy problems. By the end of the day they had produced a range of sea creatures, insects, flowers & marvellous machines. We hope you will be inspired by their wonderful designs. All the materials they used are in store now so come along and get shopping. [full details and photos]

Big Ideas

Can you do better? Would you like to play with some scrap and share ideas with other Orinoco members? Come along to the store this Saturday (05/05/07) and join in a construction workshop in the main hall (11am to 4pm). This month's theme is "Under The Sea".

Swap Shop

If you're planning some spring cleaning over the Bank holiday weekend, don't forget that there will be a Swap Shop on Saturday May 12th. [Download flyer]

Headington Festival - Down on the Farm

This year's Headington Festival will be on Sunday 3rd of June in Burry Knowle Park. Orinoco will be there with the Scrapmobile and our theme will be "Down on the Farm". We hope you will be able to join us on the day and/or on Monday 30th of May at the Scrapstore to prepare. We'll be making tractors, combine harvesters, sheep, cows and anything else we can think of.

Cowley Road Carnival

This year's Cowley Road Carnival will be on Sunday 1st of July. We won't be at the Carnival but we will on hand to help you with your carnival creations. There will be free carnival creation workshops at the Scrapstore on Saturday 23rd of June and Saturday 30th of June. Come along, get into the carnival spirit and make your carnival costume.

End of Year Party

Saturday 30th of June is the last day of the Orinoco year. This past year has seen many changes at Orinoco and a lot of hard work by Orinoco staff, volunteers and members to make Orinoco a success. It's hard to believe that only a year ago we were threatened with closure. To celebrate our rise from the ashes and to say a big thank you to one and all, we're going to throw a party. Come along, we'd love to see you there.

Diary Dates

Through May & June the store will be open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm. Additionally, we are often in the store on Monday and Friday afternoons sorting and tidying from 2pm-5pm. Please ring the store - 01865 761113 before visiting on a Monday or Friday.
