Reduce, Reuse, Recampaign!
Campaigners trying to save the Warneford Meadow in Headington from
development made good use of Orinoco materials in their recent protest. If
you are upset about something, such as the senseless destruction of vital
green-space, you too can protest in an environmentally friendly way by using
Orinoco materials. [more]

How does your garden grow?
Well we hope, particularly if tended diligently with Orinoco tools. But,
could you do better? Find out more about: permaculture, composting,
seed-swapping and even compost toilets at one of the informative workshops
run by the Barracks Lane Community Garden. [Barracks

Cowley Road Carnival Appeal for Volunteers
The Cowley Road Carnival is an annual event that attracts in excess of
twenty thousand visitors. It is an opportunity for the residents of East
Oxford, Oxford City and the wider Community of Oxfordshire to come together
and celebrate our diverse and exciting cultures. Without the input of
volunteers this event could not happen. If you'd like to join the Carnival
team get in touch with the organisers and see what you could to to help. There will be a briefing session on the
weekend 23 & 24 June to know what it’s all about. [further details:

Build Big Bad Beautiful Bike Bugs…
Come and join the Oxford Cycle Workshop to make enormous bicycle-powered
beasties for the Cowley Road carnival…
Throughout June they'll be running regular weekend workshops with artist
Martin West. They'll be taking bikes apart and putting them back together in
ways you’ve never dreamt of... cranks will power giant butterfly wings,
handlebars will turn giant insect heads... the whole thing will be powered
by a team of pedal-pushing volunteers as an invasion of giant bicycle
insects takes to the streets at the Cowley Road Carnival on Sun 1st July.
Contact Dan or Alexis at the Cycle Workshop for more info:
mail@oxfordcycleworkshop.co.uk tel. 01865 204799
Workshops will run 10-4pm Saturdays and Sundays in June at SS Mary and John
Church Hall on Cowley Road
