Orinoco Update
27th May 2007

The store will be open all day on Bank Holiday Monday (28th May) and Howie will be running a 'Down on The Farm' workshop to prepare for the Headington Festival. Turn up and join in with: animal masks, animal sculptures and anything else we can come up with. If you can't make it along on Monday, don't forget we'll be open on Tuesday as usual.

Noisy Shakers

Shiny cardboard tubes with metal bases and tight-fitting metal lids have just arrived. Decorate, add something that will rattle (some of our plastic beads or pasta/rice if you're worried about the little darlings eating the contents), fit the lid and stand back. These make LOADS OF NOISE when shaken. Great for parties and Carnival. [Scrap]

Carnival Creations

The most popular of the themes for this year's Carnival has been flame... so we've been busy finding suitable scrap to set the Cowley Road alight. In store now we have: offcuts of dress lace in red and pink, offcuts of ripstop nylon in red, white, yellow and orange, flag and banner material, red sticky-backed plastic, rolls of red tissue paper (10cm wide) red and pink fleece material and flame coloured tinsel. Foamy Things

We have loads and loads (and loads) of the lovely self-adhesive foam shapes back in stock. If you've never played with these before they are very versatile and very sticky. Just cut them with scissors (even child-safe ones) into any shape you like and stick them on something. They stuck together to make substantial 3D models. [Scrap]

In the Frame

Lovely cardboard photographic mounts and a variety of card offcuts have just arrived. The mounts allow you to give that bit of class to any piece of work. The card offcuts are great for modelling with. [Scrap]

Take the tube

Plastic and cardboard tubes, 300mm ling by 40mm diameter. Great for animal legs, mobiles... the perfect compliment to the large cardboard tubes. [Scrap]

Bowled over

Brightly coloured bowls, great for mixing paint or plaster or for use at picnics. Don't forget your Union Flag paper napkins. [Scrap].

Paper

Rolls of paper (600mm wide). Some of these rolls have over 100m of paper on them. [£1-£5 a roll]

Net Profit

New stocks of cargo net, fishing net and net that defies categorisation is now in stock. There's half a van full so it won't run out instantly but don't hang around. [from 50p a metre for lengths / scraps by the bag]

Diary Dates

Through June & July the store will be open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm. Additionally, we are often in the store on Monday and Friday afternoons sorting and tidying from 2pm-5pm. Please ring the store - 01865 761113 before visiting on a Monday or Friday.
