Carnival Creations - June 23rd and June 30th
Don't spend a fortune on your Carnival costume... make one for free at
Orinoco. We will be running two free scrap-art events at Orinoco to make
costumes, instruments and streamers for the Cowley Road Carnival.
We've got artists on hand to help you create something spectacular to
wear, hold or rattle on Sunday July 1st... so what are you waiting for? See
you between 11am and 4pm. |
 |
End of Year Party (30/06/07) from 5pm
Saturday 30th of June is the last day of the
Orinoco year. To say a big thank you to
one and all (members & volunteers), we're going to throw a party and you
are, of course, invited. We'll have plenty of crisps and fizzy pop so it
should be a hoot. |
 |
Cowley Road Carnival - July 1st
We'll be in the Children's event tent making things and having fun.
Please drop in and support us. If you could help us out on the 1st by giving
an hour (or so) of your time to support Howie
and the team please reply to this email and say when you
could be available.

Swap Shop
The next swap will be on Saturday July 14th (the second Saturday of the month
as usual). Turn up and leave stuff, turn
up and take free stuff or do both. Usual time, 11 to 4. Tell all your
friends and
download
the poster. [www.oxorinoco.org/swapshop/]
80 people came to the Swap shop on June 9th. We took in around 380kg of
unwanted goods on the day and had collected 60kg in advance. The swappers
took away 215kg of stuff that would otherwise have been binned. |

New Stock - Beautiful Paper
The ever popular bookbinder's off cuts are now back in store. This is
140gms paper, it's like cartridge paper with a slightly higher china content
to give it smooth (but not too smooth) finish. Great for pens, pencils,
crayons and even paint. This always sells fast so get down to the store if
you want some. |
 |
Join the team
Have you ever noticed how cheerful we are down at Orinoco? Well that's
because it's great fun working in the store. Have you got a couple of hours
a week (or month) you could spare to help us out? There's room on the team
for Scrap Advisors, creative van-drivers, Swap Shop supervisors and people
who just want to play with some scrap. We're also trying to put together a
show-team to run Orinoco stalls at events through the summer. Please drop us
a line if you'd like to know more. |

Orinoco Gallery
The Orinoco Gallery is now fully up and running. You can jump straight to
it from any page in the website by clicking the [Gallery]
link at the top of the page. The gallery has all the new stock updates and
pictures of what Orinoco members have made with their scrap. You can sign in
and upload your pictures too. |

Orinoco on Facebook
Orinoco is now on Facebook. If you haven't discovered Facebook yet this
is a great excuse to drop in and browse around. It's fabulous:
