Orinoco Update
22nd February 2008

Big Book Give Away - 23rd February

There will be free books for all on February 23rd from 11am to 4pm (or until the books run out). We've got loads of lovely new books in English and a range of other languages which can be used for art, craft or even for reading. Turn up and help yourself. There will be a limit of twenty books per person for the first hour. After twelve, you may take as many as you want. There is no admission charge and the books are free but donations are always welcome. Please tell all your friends and colleagues by downloading the flier and emailing it around. Please note that you may not sell these books or donate them to charity shops for sale - they are traceable back to us if you do. [Download the Flier]

Calendars, thousands of 'em

We just couldn't resist a job lot of calendars (2008) which were going to be chucked. We've got thousands of them, literally. Scenic Devon, Yorkshire, the Cotswolds... the whole country. Give one to all of your friends. Teachers... give one to every child in your school... Yes, really, we have enough. Pick them up for free at the Big Book Give Away.

The Crate Escape (or boxing clever if you prefer)

We've just taken delivery of several hundred fabulous cargo crates. There are pictures in the gallery but if you've ever looked at the crates we use in the store and thought, 'Wow, those would be so useful for my toys, tools, art materials...' then you know the kind of thing we mean. These are heavy duty, hard wearing, almost indestructible crates that would normally cost you between £10 and £20. Our price is £2 per box initially but this will go up as stocks go down so hurry. Exeter Scrap Swap...Lovely new stuff

Jon and Howie had a successful trip down to Exeter for the biggest Scrap Swaps of the year. Scrapstores from across the country meet up to exchange stock and stories. We traded excess barrels and plastic things for a huge range of delightful new stuff. The store is jammed full of new goodies too numerous to list here but illustrated in glorious technicolour in the online gallery. [gallery]  The picture below shows the pile of scrap and the circle of scrapmobiles before the referee blew his whistle. It was all gone within half an hour!

Funky Printing

We've got new supplies of funky printing materials and have put them together into handy kits. You can buy a box of 60 sticky foam shapes and 30 pieces of card for £10 (£5 if you're a member). We've also got new stock of paint and lovely paper for printing on.

If you'd like to book us to come out and run a printing session in your school, playgroup or home we are still offering a special price of £50 per session. Contact Howie at the store for more details.
