Orinoco Update
21st March 2008

Happy Easter. Don't forget, the Scrapstore will be open on Saturday. With the weather forecast for Sunday and Monday looking grim it's well worth stocking up with creative materials. Read on to see what's new in store this week.

Orinoco ArtShop

We've just re-stocked the ArtShop. In addition to the usual range of Reeves Redimix paint we've now got metallic and glitter paint. We've also got a new batch of childsafe scissors and some sharp ones that actually work too. There are some really nice packets of coloured pencils too.

Yarn, yarn, eggs, bacon and yarn

Yes, yarn is the new Spam. We've swapped about two tonnes of it with other scrapstores and we've probably sold a quarter of a tonne. That leaves around a tonne and a half to go. This yarn is beautiful quality and very special. You won't see anything like this again so tell your friends and get down the store.

Swap Shop - 12th April

The next Orinoco Swap Shop will be on Saturday April 12th from 11am to 4pm. Bring along stuff you don't want and/or take away stuff you do. [more info] [download flier] [Swap Shop Report]

Orinoco in Bicester

The Scrapmobile will once again be in Bicester, at the Courtyard Youth Arts Centre, on the first Tuesday of the Month (that's April 8th) between 2.30pm and 5.30pm. Directions to the Courtyard at: www.bicestercourtyard.org.uk

More Printing Ideas

Orinoco artists have been hard at work demonstrating that our printing kits aren't just for printing on paper. Drop into the store to see the display of books, picture frames, furniture and lampshades that have been delightfully decorated.

We are still offering short printing activity sessions (1 hour duration + set up and clear away) at just £50.

New Stock

We've had a big new delivery of coloured netting. Look out for edge-trimmings in gold, blue, red, pink, cream & white. There are some substantial offcuts of white and pink.

We're very excited about some giant paint rollers that look perfect for juggling with, or making hungry caterpillars out of.

We also have a good supply of some very unusual cardboard offcuts - it's like cardboard straw and is great for weaving with and modelling with.

Finally, we have cardboard picture stands, art postcards (including some of Prince Charles' watercolours) and rolls of translucent sticky backed film - though it's not very sticky anymore.
