Big Book Giveaway - August 15th

It's that time again. Well over a thousand brand new books of all shapes, sizes and languages will be up for grabs on Saturday August 15th from 11am onwards (until they're gone). We've got coffee-table picture books, children's books, fact and fiction.

Grab them and read them or pull them apart to use the wonderful illustrations in your project.

Help us publicise the event by passing on this email to friends and colleagues.

New Stock

All our newest stock can always be seen in the online Gallery. As soon as Jon gets something interesting in the store he photographs it and uploads it to: picasaweb.google.co.uk/oxorinoco

Brightly coloured vinyl, great for sticking.

Empty, clean, food trays and containers, great for paint and all kinds of builds.

Fabric samples for cutting and sticking.

Net, net, net...

Plastic bobbins, sticky foam shapes, stoppers, straws and wire things from fizzy wine.

Toilets (clean). Great for making planters out of. No, really, they are.

Watch out... there's a Scrapmobile about.

The amazing scrapmobile has had some successful outings over the last couple of months. Howie and Oliver ran a funky early-years scrap art day in Cutteslowe Park (part of the 'Party in the Park') and Howie ran a scrap workshop and giveaway at the 'Playing in the Great Outdoors' event at Hill End, Farmoor.

Orinoco Updates... a word from Howie

I love sending out these updates because it's a great way of keeping everyone excited about all the lovely new things in the store. I usually send one out when something interesting happens in the store, whenever we've got a special sale and when we get new stock. I try to send one out between once every two weeks and once a month. Well, that's the theory anyway.

Unfortunately, recently, due to pressure of work I've had difficulty in finding the time to write then. This is the first proper update with pictures and chat since April. The time has come to try something new.

I'm still going to put updates like this together, but these are going to be less regular than before (one per Season). Don't panic though, because I've created an automatic mailing list that will allow us to get  hot news straight to your inbox.

You will soon receive a welcome message from the mailing list. If you haven't received anything by 09/08/09 check you SPAM folder in case your email client has been a little overzealous. The email to watch for will come from storenews@oxorinoco.org

Membership Cards... another word from Howie

If you have recently renewed your Orinoco membership but have not received your membership cards yet please could you contact Laura, our new membership secretary by email to membership@oxorinoco.org or telephone the store on 01865 761113. Apologies to anyone for the delays caused by process of transferring the membership files and paperwork from my computer to Laura's.
